From Darkness to Light John 8:12

John 8:12 NIV

When Jesus spoke again to the people, he said, “I am the light of the world. Whoever follows me will never walk in darkness, but will have the light of life.”

Ever walked from complete darkness into light? Every sense in your body cringes as your body tries to compensate for the temporary loss of vision. But as your body adjusts to the light, however, your eyes reveal the beauty of the world.

The same can be said for following Jesus.  Without a relationship with Jesus, people are walking in darkness looking for light or for hope.  They easily accept what the world offers.  In darkness, and in  the need for hope, one has difficulty differentiating real truth from all the false sense of hope that is presented as an alternative to God.  Following atheism, evolution, sinful lifestyles, or other religions are easy when truth is blurred.

Jesus changes the dynamic of how we see the world. Jesus opens our eyes to truth and to hope and to peace. He reveals the way sin can cloud our judgment and can twist truth.

There is a real devil who will leave well enough alone if well enough keeps people from discovering the truth offered by God.  My prayer is for more people to start living beyond well enough.   My prayer is for more people to never having to walk in darkness again. Help me pray for the light to be seen by others so they also can experience life through Christ.

If you are someone who is looking for truth,  then I pray you will give Jesus an honest chance.  It will change your world.  If you live close by,  join us at Faith Community Church in Covington, Georgia.   Check out our website: faithcovington.org
