To Have an Excellent Day

Philippians 4:8 NIV

"Finally, brothers and sisters, whatever is true, whatever is noble, whatever is right, whatever is pure, whatever is lovely, whatever is admirable—if anything is excellent or praiseworthy—think about such things."

Rick Warren, author and pastor, once wrote that what you think affects how you feel which in turn motivates how you act.  He also says the opposite is true.  How you choose to act will affect your feelings and how you think.  Now, pair this with what Paul is saying.

Whatever is true will affect your motivations.  Whatever is noble will affect your actions.  Think on these things.  The pure, the lovely, the admirable, the excellent, and the praiseworthy will move us closer to how God thinks and acts.  

Only I alone can control me, myself, and I.  Reread the verse.  Now read this:

Philippians 4:9 NIV

"Whatever you have learned or received or heard from me, or seen in me—put it into practice. And the God of peace will be with you."

You can change how you feel and act and think.  Seek the God of peace today.  Hope your day turns out to be excellent.
