Loving the Unlovable - Romans 13:10

Romans 13:10 NIV

"Love does no harm to a neighbor. Therefore love is the fulfillment of the law."

What can can we learn from the way others treat us?  An eye for an eye? A tooth for a tooth?  Revenge?  Justice?  Protest?  What do we learn when we want justice for harm portrayed against us or our family or our race?

Love does no harm.  Main Luther King, Jr. personified this. He was a keen advocate for nonviolence because he understood that love does no harm nor does it demand an eye for an eye...unlike violent protests of late.

What I learn is that there is a lot of people out there that are hurting because they they need love or someone to portray true love.  They need examples of love.  They need God in the flesh - they need Christ in me.

Where there is sin grace that much more abounds.  Our greatest gift to others is to share the love of Christ.  When can we do this?  When our neighbor, enemy,  coworker, classmate, or even a family member harms us.  I am not saying we go defenseless, but after defending ourselves, how can we keep from producing perpetual harm? Can we muster enough strength or gentleness to keep showing love to those who have harmed us?

Loving the unlovable.  That is what Christ does everyday.
