Psalm 119:10 NIV
"I seek you with all my heart; do not let me stray from your commands."
Seeking God with all our heart starts when we seek God on our own. Let me explain this. I am not suggesting that we do not need the church nor should we stop meeting together.
Seeking God on our own begins with reading and studying God's Word on our own and not...let me capitalize this... NOT relying solely on what we hear from our pastors and Sunday school teachers. We need pastors and teachers to help explain God's Word. We also need to learn that maturity in faith is our own personal journey to know God more.
We do not have to ask if we are doing wrong or if we are taking the correct steps when we devote time to knowing God. Relying on others pushes off our own responsibility. When the psalmist says I "seek You with all my heart", he is saying that he is taking responsibility for his spiritual growth.
Being responsible enough to learn God's Word will help us to keep His commands. Take time know God with your whole heart by praying to Him and by studying His Word. If you have questions about it, then go to your pastor or Bible study teacher and discuss your findings and ask questions. Take responsibility for your growth.
