Be Ernest - Hebrews 11:6

Hebrews 11:6 NIV

"And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him."

I hope I do not overcomplicate this today.
To have faith, one must trust in God.  It doesn't have to be perfect faith.  God just wants to begin a journey with us. During this journey, we discover more and more about Him. Faith is a step towards knowing God more. So I do not have to say that without faith one cannot please God. But...

People try to please God all the time without faith. The problem with this is they do not know Him. Try to do something pleasing for a stranger. How awkward is it? Doing good things for friends and family is easier because we take time to get to know them.  If we are not taking time to know our family,  then we grow apart and cannot please them.

The same is true with a relationship with God. The less you know about Him the harder it is to please Him. To fully please God, our faith must recognize His existence and trust that He will do what He says He will do.

If you are earnestly seeking Him, then do not give up reading His Word and studying it.  Keep joining together with others who are trying to work out their salvation in all their inconsistencies and worship together. Serve others and share your faith.   That is what it takes to be earnest.

Join us in our campaign to raise $25,000 so we can build a church community that is not only relevant but also becomes one of the largest volunteer bases in our area.
