Matthew 6:3-4 NIV
"But when you give to the needy, do not let your left hand know what your right hand is doing, so that your giving may be in secret. Then your Father, who sees what is done in secret, will reward you."
Christ was a mountain mover. People came to Him to solve all kinds of problems, and He did. He removed their sins and pains so they could see Him and accept Him.
That is our challenge. We are to go into the world and help people along the way so they can see Christ and accept Him. Doing so is not about earning a badge of honor nor is it an opportunity to boast about what we have done. There is not a reward in heaven for boasters.
What is done in private will be rewarded by God. This doesn't mean we stop working in teams while doing outreach events. It doesn't even mean others cannot honor us for giving. It does mean we cannot become glory seekers.
Find ways to become active in your community. Become the hands and feet of Christ. Go where others are not treading. Make a point to give as God had enabled you. He is waiting to say "Well done."
