The Lord your God is with you, the Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in his love he will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” Zephaniah 3:17 NIV
This thought I am sharing first came to me through a man named Frank Walker who used to attend the first church I pastored. Frank has passed on to meet his Savior, is missed, but not forgotten.
This is a beautiful verse to think about. The Lord, our God, who is known as Immanuel (God with us), never leaves us as He finds us if we choose Him. He is mighty to save! He fights for our soul as the Great Warrior.
God's love goes from a rebuke (to bring us to salvation) to a song (to help us grow in salvation). He loves us with an everlasting love. Like I said, He never leaves us as He finds us but urges us to explore and to grow in our faith.
Think about this last part of the verse...God sings over us when we are saved. God prepares or has thought of a special song to sing over you and me. When He looks at you that song of salvation is on His heart.
I hope your day is full of joy as you think about how God is singing over you. I only ask that you consider the song. Is it a song about your salvation or a song drawing you to Him? Don't live under God's rebuke. Live through His song of salvation.
