“You are the light of the world. A town built on a hill cannot be hidden."
Has there ever been something that could not escape your notice? A color change in a room? A new emblem on a business? The change in the landscape around your childhood home?
A town that cannot be hidden is a town that cannot escape notice. A town on a hill is visible during the day and during the night. I was describing this to my kids as the picture seen by many astronauts as they crossed the night sky. Many cities illuminated by their lights.
Christ wants us to be like that. He wants us to never be afraid of our faith - to never feel compelled to hide His light because we are His light in the world. That means we have a lot to live for. It is a way of life. There is a multitude of people living in the darkness of the world. They could use the peace that His light brings. Do not hide your light. Be peace in the world.
