Psalm 3:3 NIV
"But you, Lord , are a shield around me, my glory, the One who lifts my head high."
King David did not live a perfect life. In fact, when he wrote this song, his son, Absalom, was taking over the kingdom. David was forced to run for his life.
This song tells us a lot about faith when life seems unfair or too tough. It tells us to turn to God, to let God protect us, and let God act on our behalf. Don't quit on yourself or on life. Let God lift up your head.
When my kids are sad, I try to lift their head to look me in the eyes. Or I may try to lift their spirits by getting them to laugh. I am amazed at the way energy works when we lift up our head instead of slumping.
If you are in a slump, let God lift up your head. If you know someone in a slump, lead them to God and let Him lift up their head. Watch the transfer of God's power, His peace, renew the mind and the spirit. Get out of the slump.
