Psalm 25:7 NIV
"Do not remember the sins of my youth and my rebellious ways; according to your love remember me, for you, Lord , are good."
G - God is good
R - Redemption is through Jesus
A - Accept Jesus as your Lord and Savior
C - Christ loves you
E - Everyone is called to God
I know this is rather simplistic but my kids like making them. Some ministers use them to help people remember anything from sermons to vision statements. I haven't used them too much as you can tell. They are called acrostics, and this is an acrostic psalm.
David used each of the letters of the Hebrew alphabet to wrote this song. Each is a mini sermon yet each fits within the song. Here David asks God to forget his past sins. God does when we truly repent (turn from) our former ways that displease Him.
David also asks God to remember according to His love. God is slow to anger. People often think of God as some ogre looking for an opportunity to punish them. Sin punishes us more than God. Sin separates us from God's love and comfort. Sin creates a constant struggle for basic needs of security. Sin damages our relationships and our health. God according to His love wants to rescue us from the damage of sin.
God is good. He remembers us and is with us through His Son, Jesus. The only condition is that we have to take steps toward Him. He is already reaching out His hand to you.
See you in church.
