9/11 and Memories

I watched live TV as the second plane hit.  I remember those in my office believed we were watching the footage of the first hit.  I simply said, "No, that is a second plane hitting the second tower."  Just a month prior to the savage attack, my wife and I had been visiting New York, and we had caught a train in the subway underneath the towers.  I had been tired that day and did not feel like going to the top to look out at the view.

Five years later, I watched the memorial footage, and the emotions of the day still haunted me.  I am amazed at how attached one can become to a circumstance even though I did not have any direct involvement with the scenarios that evolved that day.  I read the other day that my kids like millions of others have been born into a time when they have never known peace like we knew.  They have always been in the history of terror threats.  Unlike so many in nations like Israel who live it everyday.

Ten years have past and again I have seen the footage of that day.  Tears well up very strong and passion pours through my soul.  Rest and comfort I now seek from my Lord and Savior for He is the only constant in my life.  These  are my thoughts on this day, please share your thoughts with someone today.
When justice is done, it brings joy to the righteous
but terror to evildoers. Prov 21:15 (NIV)
  • Pray for peace, our nation, those who bring terror, and those who pursue peace.
  • Pray for God's hand of righteousness and yet at the same time weep for those who do not know His forgiveness.
  • Pray for forgiving hearts and for hearts that have hardened.
  • Pray for the time that passes and the time that has yet to come.
  • Pray for the present and pray for the hope of eternity with God.
  • Do not forget but do not let it drive you to give up.
  • Make a difference where you are and let God be the difference in who you are.
  • God is the difference, and nothing can overcome those who reside with Him.
  God Bless and good day!
