I have my opinions on what is happening but will remain silent for a while about it. They are earnest people looking to shake up communities by giving everyone they meet chances to accept or reject the simplicity of the Good News that Jesus brought to the earth:
- First, God loves you more than anything
- Second, God has an amazing plan for your life
Jesus loves you so much that He was willing to die for you. Not just die, but also open a direct link to relationship with God. But why did He have to do this? As the Bible says:
- All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.
- The wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.
- God demonstrates His own love toward us, in that while we were still sinners, Christ died for us.
- If you confess with your mouth Jesus as Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved.
- ...for everyone who calls on the name of the Lord will be saved.
It is that simple. It is so simple this is what the Bible also says bout it:
The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. He is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance. 2 Peter 3:9 (NIV)
God is not in a hurry to annihilate the world (or you). He is patient and gives us each a chance to come to Him. What an awesome way to be a part of the greatness He has for our lives and to experience the love He wants to show us.
Ask God to forgive you, change you, turn your heart to Him, and to be a part of your life. Let Him know you want to spend your life honoring Him. That's all you have to do to start your journey in a life of faith. You don't have to get things straight first. God is good at making crooked things straight.
If you have talked to Him about this, then know this - you will make mistakes and it is okay. Just understand that when you do make a mistake, don't run away from God but go to Him - that's what He is there for.
Therefore, since we have been made right in God’s sight by faith, we have peace with God because of what Jesus Christ our Lord has done for us. Romans 5:1 (NLT)
Walk in peace, get into a good Bible believing church, and follow Jesus.
