The Amazing Change

I know I haven't written in a while. I have been between a mission trip and vacation.

We started a new series in our Sunday school class. We are watching the movie "Amazing Grace". For those who do not know, the creators of the movie also developed two very good Bible studies to accompany the film. We are going to watch the movie and then get into one of the studies.

There are a lot of atrocities that are still happening throughout the world, and shamefully, slavery is still one of them. Not only are there slaves who work tirelessly and hopelessly in mines, there are also young women being sold throughout the world in the nefarious sex trade - even in the United States.

The FBI calls this the Gray World. They report that nearly 800,000 people are traded as slaves every year, with 90% being women.

As Christians, we have more than enough work to do. Slavery did not end with the United States Civil War or the in the 1960's under the leadership of Martin Luther King, Jr.

As you go through your day today, enjoy your freedom. You are blessed with it. I also want you to think about how you can use your freedom to begin winning the freedom of others throughout the world.

Go to The Amazing Change to see how you can get involved.
