Travel the Road

I do not know if you have ever seen this on television but these guys are fun to watch.

Two guys decided to become missionaries and they travel all over the world. They video their travels and then publish their escapades. Travel the Road

Now they do not do this for profit. They are genuinely looking to bring mission work to the forefront of the minds of Christians in America. Basically bringing a front row seat to the work of missionaries.

Some of the footage is incredible. They go to places that I did not realize existed. Every time I see their show, I get more excited about every opportunity I have to help in giving towards the work of missionaries. I have never really received a call to become a missionary, but I know that a time will come that I will travel abroad. But until then, I want to help the best way I can.

Is giving towards missions biblical? Let's look:

1 Regarding the relief offering for poor Christians that is being collected, you get the same instructions I gave the churches in Galatia. 2 Every Sunday each of you make an offering and put it in safekeeping. Be as generous as you can. When I get there you'll have it ready, and I won't have to make a special appeal. 3 Then after I arrive, I'll write letters authorizing whomever you delegate, and send them off to Jerusalem to deliver your gift.

1 Cor 16:1-3 (MSG)

Does this say give towards missionaries? Not exactly, but it does show how the early church sent missionaries with offerings to assist poor Christians. This is similar to what we do when we help missionaries continue spreading the gospel to unreached people groups.

Our offerings reach out in ways we cannot always see but we will experience in heaven.

I could quote passages from the Bible that show Paul's thanks for the support he received from different churches that enabled him to spread the gospel.

So, I challenge you to be diligent and when you can, give.
