Just Exercise

Deuteronomy 30:16 NIV

"For I command you today to love the Lord your God, to walk in obedience to him, and to keep his commands, decrees and laws; then you will live and increase, and the Lord your God will bless you in the land you are entering to possess."

How far do you get when you sit still?  Give up?  So do people who do not put any effort into their faith. You cannot get anywhere without some type of motion.

If you want to condition yourself, then walking is a great exercise.  It is low impact and great for the heart. But walking only benefits your body.

Your faith needs exercise as well.   Moses was attempting to encourage the people of Israel to keep their faith journey going even if their journey through the desert was coming to an end.

The more you exercise your faith, the easier following God's commands become.  Faith exercises increase your trust in God.  Top of the list is being obedient. You can read and study God's Word.  You should share your faith with others.  You should be a part of a worship family - aka the church.  There are numerous exercises for your faith. Just exercise (avoiding the "do it" in case it is copyrighted).

The greatest benefit of your faith exercise is the benefit to your soul.  Moses says we will live and increase as God blesses us.  Whatever you are doing (as long as it doesn't interfere with your relationship with God), God will bless - marriage, raising your family, work, etc.

Exercise your faith today. Start walking with God and see the difference.
