2 Corinthians 5:14-15 NIV
"For Christ’s love compels us, because we are convinced that one died for all, and therefore all died. And he died for all, that those who live should no longer live for themselves but for him who died for them and was raised again."
Deep thoughts with Paul. He was a deep thinker. The thought just in these two verses alone holds a profound truth.
The love of Christ compels us. Think about it. All the truth we possess about God is wrapped up in the love shown to us by Christ. It compels us to tell others. It compels us to remain faithful. It compels us to love God.
The compelling truth about the love of Christ is derived from the conviction we carry that reminds us about the death Christ endured for all. His death was the death for all. We all die because of the act of sin but His death conquers that power. In return, He is empowered to give life. Told you it was deep.
We die in Him - not physically. Our sinful selves die when we accept the truth. In His love, we find true life, an eternal life. This life pushes out the selfish nature and compels us to live for Him. We share His love. We share His mercy. We share His truth. Compelled by love we share with one another and seek to alleviate the pains and lack of others.
To fully live for Him, we will give drink to those who thirst, feed those who hunger, shelter those who need shelter, and visit those who need a visit. He died and rose again so we can bear this freedom.
