John 10:28-30 NIV
"I give them eternal life, and they shall never perish; no one will snatch them out of my hand. My Father, who has given them to me, is greater than all ; no one can snatch them out of my Father’s hand. I and the Father are one."
Jesus is God. This passage reinforces the truth of His deity, not because He says He is one with the Father. The first five words are important to this passage. Those words reflect an attribute of God. Only God can grant eternal life. Jesus declares that He "gives" eternal life.
Refreshing. Not only can Jesus give eternal life but nothing can snatch us out of His grip - the grip of His love. The Father gives us, the ones who choose Jesus as Savior, to Him. The Father is greater than all, and Jesus and He are one.
We are not following some crackpot. We follow the one who sacrificed His life and came back to life, as witnessed by hundreds of people. The One who conquered death claims us as His own family. We are all wanted and loved by Him and nothing can separate us from Him. This also means He never gives up on us.
I cannot imagine a life without Christ even though I watch people daily who invest little into their relationship with Him and people who do not want anything to do with Him. My heart breaks for them because either they refuse to give up a lifestyle that contradicts a life with Christ or they just haven't given Him a chance to be the difference. They perish daily on their own. All Christ wants to give is life. He will not give up on them.
Does your life reflect Christ as Lord in your life? Are you tired of the feeling of perishing? Let Jesus into your life and live. Live for a long time.
