Waiting - Hebrews 9:28

Hebrews 9:28 NIV

"so Christ was sacrificed once to take away the sins of many; and he will appear a second time, not to bear sin, but to bring salvation to those who are waiting for him."

Isn't it nice to know that you do not have to go to Israel once a year in order to take your sin sacrifices to the Temple?  I cannot imagine what it was like but I can imagine the humility needed to do it.

God shows us how difficult life can be without His intervention.  Jesus came so we could go directly to Him for forgiveness and not to a place.  This still takes humility on our part to admit our sins but we do not have to go through a lot of ritual in hopes that we are clean enough to approach God.  We just approach Christ.

Jesus took away the sins of many (all who ask for His forgiveness and accept Him as Lord and Savior) with one sacrifice - His death.  That was His intention for coming the first time - to bear our sin and remove it's power over us.  Exciting as this is, the story gets more exciting when we know that He is coming again!

He will return one day to claim what is His - all who call Him Savior.  His return will mark the completion of our salvation as He comes to bring us to heaven.  Rest assured you can be saved (forgiven of your sins through the acceptance of Jesus as Lord and Savior) here on earth and can be a part of His return.  It is your choice.  Do it on your own or accept His free gift (Choose the latter.  Doing it in your own doesn't work so well).
