John 1:14 NIV
"The Word became flesh and made his dwelling among us. We have seen his glory, the glory of the one and only Son, who came from the Father, full of grace and truth."
"The Word became flesh" is an amazing testimony to who Jesus really is. Jesus was in the beginning, and Jesus is, still today. As the Word, Jesus is the revelation, the instigation, and the incarnation of God. Simply put, Jesus reveals who God is to the world in a very personal way - a Savior who created everything and died and rose again to show it. He is Lord.
I wish I could fully relate the divine nature of God in this post. I wonder how John felt as he penned this gospel? He was trying to relate his personal story about the most awesome event in world history - God came to live among men, to cry with them, to eat with them, to help them, and to die for them. John saw the glory. He saw the death, and he met with the resurrected one.
John says Jesus was full of grace and of truth. Grace is God's desire to share His love with us. Truth is God's desire to help us experience true life - life without the powerful influence of sin. God's grace covers sin and His truth helps us to recognize and avoid them.
As you go about your day today, take a moment to reflect on how different your life is or would be without God. Then take time to explore how God is the difference or can be the difference in your life.
