Humble Pie

James 4:10 NIV

"Humble yourselves before the Lord, and he will lift you up."

I started doing this regular, short devotional a couple of weeks ago.  It is intended for those who need a quick devotion as they head to work.  It can also be used for ministers who need a kick start in a sermon.  My goal is to reach as many people as I can with a daily blog written fresh each day.  

I though it was beginning to happen until I started to investigate some strange sites that were sending "people' to my posts.  Turns out I am being spammed.   Referrer sites trying to get owners of blogs to go to their porn sites were using my twitter account to send a fake number of pageviews to my site in hopes of me going to theirs and checking their site out.  They use fake websites with names like "vampirestats" or "topblogstories". 

So I have a lot more work to do to attract more real readers such as yourself.  This is where humility fits.  It reminds us that some things that feel too big to accomplish require an interdependence on God.  He is the true source of strength.  

I learn to be humble by putting God first in my life.  I can do this by placing my decisions in God's hands.  By trusting Him, God is honored and blesses us.   He lifts us up.  But we have to be humble enough to get on our knees and pray sincerely.

Start today with prayer.  Trust God to guide your decisions.
