What else does God’s influence in us as billboards to the world do? It tells the world that along with an invitation…
God still speaks of transformation for all.
A. to strengthen them with His answers (Read verse 3a)
God is a just God. Disputes are quickly settled when He influences the lives of His people. There is something about the strength of God that makes us view situations differently. God’s truth transforms us and renews our mind. It makes us a new person and revitalizes our way of dealing with problems. This transformation strengthens us.
B. to build confidence in His judgment (Read verse 3b)
Our new life through Christ grants us the confidence needed to act in peace. This transformation is so desperately needed in our governments today. Confidence thwarts war and the talk of war.
With confidence people, people take the machines of war and “violently” beat them into tools of peace. Confidence is a measure of God’s work in our lives that shows in many different scenarios. Confidence develops conviction and teaches the methods for dealing with problems fall to God’s word and judgment. (I’m not talking about defending ourselves…)
Our karate school has a motto that we train not to fight. When you have the confidence to fight, you don’t have to anymore. In fact, that confidence is what teaches a good student how to judge their opponent not to injure but to end the conflict without blows.
This karate motto says that we are as we train. The same goes for our Christian walk. We are as we train our thoughts. When you have confidence in Jesus, you no longer have to fight. God transforms your thinking and your way of seeing situations. God becomes the victor and the Savior and He spreads his justice.
God’s transformation of your life is the greatest witness you have in leading others to God. People outside the church do not care about how you fall down. They don’t care how bad it hurts. They don’t care how little or how much you have. They want to see how you get up after you fall. They want to see how you react to the hurt. They want to know how resourceful you are with what you have.
Wars are fought over the attitudes of people who live without peace, without strength, and without confidence. That’s why we have to live out the confidence God gives us in every area of our lives. We need that confidence with our families, with our work, with our school, and with our neighbors. God’s influence in us is about transforming our community.
How is God showing His desire to transform your life? What are you doing to seek change in your community?
