Pac Man's Birthday and Immigration

If you have not already, then head to google.com.  Once there you will notice that the Google sign is a real PacMan game that you can actually play.  I am floored by the fun.  Google is very good at creating a fun atomosphere.

So Happy Birthday Pac Man and thanks Google for the fun game.

Of course, that is not the only thing on my mind today.  Immigration is.

Many have complained about how brazen the president of Mexico was in front of our Congress.  The fact driven deeper by the standing ovation by Democrats, who really do seem to be living in some alternate reality, to remarks that slammed our sovereign nation.

Instead of slamming our nation, why are we not coming up with better alternatives?  Instead of distancing ourselves from our southern friends, why are we not trying to fix the root of the problem - poverty?

To be completely honest - a fence is not the answer.  It will not work.  Don't belive me -ask the Eastern Germans who could not keep hundreds of people from escaping the communist "stronghold" even though they built a fence, concrete barriers, machine gun nests, landmines, and billions (yes, billions) of dollars worth of other improvements.  Manning a fence the size needed to stop immigrants is going to cost us billions yearly!  Let that sink in becuase the billions spent will only lead to new ways people will invent just so they can have a chance of feeding their families back home.

Moms and dads leave everyday just to give hope to their children back in their homelands.  Listen, I am not saying breaking the law is a positive or moral reason to feed your family.  I am just saying that fences do not deal with the problem!

The problem is poverty.  People South of us need better infrastructure.  They need stronger businesses.  They need better trade partners.  They need people influencing them for a greater good.  By dealing with the actual problem maybe we could create stronger trade partners who would be a far better cry than dealing with Communist China.

As for the Democrats, stop bashing states for trying to put teeth into law, and stop sucking up to people who have tougher immigration policies than we do.  You may just break that bubble of your alternate reality yet.
