A Proper Reason for the Season - 1 Corinthians 15:57

1 Corinthians 15:57 NIV

"But thanks be to God! He gives us the victory through our Lord Jesus Christ."

Leftovers, smiles, and new memories are what remain after a great Thanksgiving meal.  We have all worked exhaustively to extend our thanks to God and to family.  Here is why this is important for faith as Christians.

We do not have a good reason for thanks without Christ.  Sure people could give thanks on Thanksgiving and not have a relationship with Jesus, but without Jesus, we would not have Thanksgiving Day.  Without Him, we might not have a United States.  Without Him, Columbus may not have tried so hard to open new trade routes and new routes for missionaries. And this is just Christ's influence on the U.S.  Just read how He influenced the rest of the world and be amazed at how complex God's plan has been to impact the world.

We give thanks to God because He gives us victory through Christ.  Christians and those who have identified themselves as Christians have made some bad decisions throughout history, yet God through Christ has always made a difference and sent new champions of the faith to help guide faith back onto it's correct path.

So as we enter this Christmas season braving the mile long lines to get the best deals or decorating our homes with just a few more lights, be thankful to Christ.  Without Him, none of this would be possible.

Enjoy your holidays season with a proper reason.  Leave a comment, keep reading, and join us at faithcovington.org
