Choose Life

John 3:36 NIV

"Whoever believes in the Son has eternal life, but whoever rejects the Son will not see life, for God’s wrath remains on them."

'Nough said!  What more can I add?

First, what does believe mean?  To believe is to be confident in what you know about Christ, to trust Him completely with your life, to have faith in the future given by Him, and to commit yourself fully to His ways.  Belief in Christ is the access point to eternal life.  Belief is more than simple acknowledgement of who Jesus is.  Belief is a lifestyle change and commitment that is powered by God's Holy Spirit.  God walks with us when we believe.

Second, what does reject mean?  Rejection is a refusal to believe or refusal to obey God.  There are many people jumping on this boat just because they believe that God is too inconvenient for their desired lifestyle.  Their only taste of heaven is what they see in God's creation.  Those who choose this path consistently try to make the world a better place (a place that suites them) and constantly fall short.  Their lives revolve around themselves, and they cannot behold true life.  This is a lonely existence.

Finally, God's wrath is upon those who reject Christ.  God is not punishing them.  Their lack of commitment to accept God's rescue from sin is their own punishment. This type of life is only the beginning to eternal punishment.  God's wrath can only be removed by God, and He gives us a simple way of doing it - choose life - believe in Jesus.

God only gives us one life to accept or refuse Him.  There are not any gray areas.  His plan is in black and white so we can decide.  He has done everything He can to show us His love.  We accept this love by believing in His Son who comes to give life - life more abundant.  Get abundant life; start a life with Jesus today.
