"This is how God showed his love among us: He sent his one and only Son into the world that we might live through him."
Today's verse of the day piggyback's off the post I did a few days ago called "Vulnerable". I want you to notice one thing as we get started. God in this verse does not say He loves us. He showed His love instead. There is a very important message here for the church.
As a minster, I encourage others to share their faith with those who do not know Jesus as their Savior and Lord. To better help people understand how to do this, I use teaching material to give them ideas in how to share their faith in the most comfortable manner for them. Why? Fear leads people away from talking to others about Jesus. In fact, our culture are more intolerant towards evangelical Christianity than at any other time in our nations history. It is very intimidating to talk to someone about having faith in Christ.
God showed loved to the unloving. The best way to share our faith is to generate friendships or relationships that show we care about the person first. God showed love first and then died to seal the relationship. I am not saying to die in order to show God's love. To show God's love, I am saying we need to let love rule our hearts. We must put love into action. People will not live until we love them enough to share true life with them.
Friendship evangelism is the easiest way to express faith. This short devotional cannot fully describe how to share your faith but when you have time you can read my series on sharing faith. Until then, Christ died so you can live. Live your life.
Do not let intolerance towards Christians hold you back. Jesus died for the world. The least we can do is love Him too by caring enough to share His love with others by sharing our faith.
