Busy Weekends

Busy weekends can be...busy.  For example, my son had a tee-ball game first thing Saturday morning.  That means getting up early and heading to the next city over and setting up "camp".

After this we head home to set up for our next outside adventure in the 90+ Georgia heat (I don't do heat).  Yesterday was actually an easy day that included swimming and avoiding the heat.  Many Saturdays hold numerous events.  I hold fellowships on one Saturday night a month for my Sunday school class.  On another Saturday night we host a young couple's fellowship.  Other Saturdays hold family events and other church activities depending on the month and our sanity.

Sundays can also be busy days.  There are times I have volunteer meetings in which I spend time training volunteers.  Other times I have staff meetings in which we talk staff talk.  I teach Sunday school and many times teach our 3 and 4 year old children's church.  I "opened" today's service with announcements and a brief scripture reading before heading to our children's service.  When we have Financial Peace University classes, I help with those.  Sunday's also include eating out as a family and coming home to recuperate from the heat (or should I say I wish to recuperate from the heat).  Today, we get to bring home two young boys to play with our son and ship our daughter out...the kids love it (we do too)!

Busy can be busy if there is not a point to the busy.  Busy can be busy when we have other things needing to be done and we choose something else.  This is my favorite pastime.  Some people call it procrastination - I call it avoiding the subject.  I need to cut the grass today but it is 90+ out there - did I mention that I don't do extreme heat?

I killed several wasps and yellow jackets with hornet spray.  The yellow jackets came back and the wasps started flying sideways.  Next, I obsessively compulsively washed my hands - cannot stand the feeling that the poison may be on my hands.

I am now working on this post.  This evening I am planning on putting out more Karen Handel signs.  All busy work.

This blog has become a great amount of fun.  I like writing the Bible studies and sharing my "mental" state of mind.  I am planning on changing the web address to something like "davidgraceblog.com" or something (for those who use the current web address, don't worry you can still use it).  I love how Google continues to add fabulous new tools (which other websites have long been using).

Yep...weekends can be busy.  But I wouldn't change anything, I like having a life.  Enjoy your weekend; Monday's only a day away...
