It has been dubbed the Crown of Thorns Galaxy. What a perfect picture to be viewing as we celebrate the Easter season.
When I consider your heavens, the work of your fingers, the moon and the stars, which you have set in place, what is man that you are mindful of him, the son of man that you care for him? Psalms 8:3-4 (NIV)
King David had the perfect unobstructed view of the stars during his days on earth. There weren't city lights from large cities to dim the skyline. I wonder how much it was similar to my seat in the farm fields of my parent's farm in Georgia.
Look at that picture again, and the re-read the words of David. The very work of the fingers of God and now we have a picture that captures the very soul of our Saviors work. He died to save the world.
He wore a crown of thorns to carry the burdens of our sins. He was hung on a cross to free us from the sting of death. He was laid in a borrowed tomb to fulfill prophecy. He rose from the grave to extend His hand of hope. He rose to the right hand of the Father to prepare a place for us.
Now we have a crown that points to His love for us, written by the very hand of God. Why? What is man that He constantly points man's attention towards Him?
We are His creation. We are created for His enjoyment. We are His workmanship. We are His love.
God made everything with a place and purpose; even the wicked are included—but for judgment.Proverbs 16:4 (MSG)
We have purpose, and God has designed our paths to cross His. We can therefore choose to follow Him or meet up with Him in judgment. As for me and my house - we shall serve the Lord.
