Radicalis meaning root. That's what Rick Warren explained this morning on his live webcast during the four day Radicalis conference. I was able to listen to Rick speak twice and to Perry Noble. I missed Andy Stanley (had to go mail my income taxes and then head to work).
Rick left me with some great things to think about. One such thought is simply: I may lead thousands of people but what does it matter if I am not serving God? Put it more simply, serving God begins and ends with worship. If I am not a servant leader (a servant of God, first, then directed to lead others), then what am I really doing?
Imagine learning to listen to the heart of God first, and then trying to influence people with the gospel? How transforming is that?
As for Perry Noble, he is a cut up. I don't think I have ever heard "flippin'" more times in a speech than when he spoke. Perry is a down home Southern pastor from Anderson, South Carolina. I used to pastor a church not too far from there. Anyway, Perry is really urging the church to think radical by actually remembering that God moves in the supernatural: raising people from the dead, walking on water, healing sick people, blowing up towns because they are too sinful to rescue, and the list goes on. God is waiting for the church to return to understanding His supernatural influence in our primordial natural being.
Here's Perry's blog: Perry Noble
Take a look at the Pastor.com website to get a $75 front seat for next years conference. This morning's session as free, and I received a lot to chew on.
