"A person with a biblical worldview experiences interprets, and responds to reality in light of the Bible's principles." - unChritian, page 75.
Do you allow the Bible to teach you how to make decision and interact with the world? A Christian worldview is distinctive.
For example:
- Christians should believe that Jesus Christ lived a sinless life
- God is the all-powerful and all-knowing Creator of the universe and He still rules it today
- Salvation is a gift from God and cannot be earned
- Satan is real
- A Christian has a responsibility to share his or her faith in Christ with other people
- The Bible is accurate in all of the principles it teaches
- Unchanging moral truth exists
- And such moral truth is defined by the Bible
Without teaching and standing firm on the truth without fear of "offending" others, people will look elsewhere to believe in something real. Many in my generation and this next generation growing up have already turned to their own selves and how they view things as the truest way to approach life. They have cut out the middle man and accept life just for what they themselves experience.
My hope is that the church awakens and moves beyond trying to save everyone and moves into leading people into a relationship with God that is transformational. Transformation moves beyond belief and into conviction about the absolutes in the Bible. Josh McDowell's book that deals with this subject was right on time, but many people dismissed it or just missed it.
So again I ask, how is your faith shaped by the eight principles above? How does God's Word help in your decision making?
"I can't impress this on you too strongly. God is looking over your shoulder. Christ himself is the Judge, with the final say on everyone, living and dead. He is about to break into the open with his rule, 2 so proclaim the Message with intensity; keep on your watch. Challenge, warn, and urge your people. Don't ever quit. Just keep it simple. 3 You're going to find that there will be times when people will have no stomach for solid teaching, but will fill up on spiritual junk food—catchy opinions that tickle their fancy. 4 They'll turn their backs on truth and chase mirages. 5 But you—keep your eye on what you're doing; accept the hard times along with the good; keep the Message alive; do a thorough job as God's servant." -2 Tim 4:1-5 (MSG)
